Above is a photo of the Binghamton Mets Plaque that honors "Grasshopper" Jim Whitney. It is proudly hung next to a few other prominent players who were, at one time or another, associated with the Binghamton ball club. In 1998, Whitney, Janet, Pete and Gael went to Binghamton and participated in the ceremonies (the Pitchers Mound between 7 - 8th innings!) as he was inducted into the Binghamton Mets BB Hall of Fame!

James is the great grandfather of Wendy and Pete. James' father is Joshua Whitney III, son of the Joshua Whitney, who founded the town (city) of Binghamton, NY. Thus a number of other settlements i.e. Whitney Gap (Penn.), Whitney Flats (NY) and others.
